Open a new Numbers spreadsheet - make 4 columns with the headings "Place", "Year", "Magnitude", "Fatalities"

Under the "Place" column, enter the following places:
Alaska
California
Japan
India
Turkey
Italy
Haiti
Indonesia
Chile
Ecuador
Tibet

Do some Google searches and for each place find the year and the magnitude of the largest earthquake recorded for that place. Enter the year, magnitude, and number of fatalities information for each place.

Name your Numbers spreadsheet "Earthquake". Email it to me when you are done.

DROP, COVER, AND HOLD ON! - Video
You may work in groups of 1 to 3. You will be creating an earthquake safety video which incorporates the concepts of Drop, Cover, and Hold On! Your video must be a minimum of 1 minute but no longer than 3 minutes. You must incorporate the green screen - you may use several scenes if you like. Also, feel free to bring in other effects, such as fast motion, slow motion, reverse, and any music or other effects that will make your video more interesting.

Make sure it is clear in your video there is some shaking going on, and be clear about WHY people need to DROP, COVER, and HOLD ON!
